My Web Philosophy
The World Wide Web is a
wonderful tool for saying what you want to say. Unfortunately, I don't have
anything to say to the world. The only reason this page even exists is so
that I have someplace to point people who ask about my home page.
The web is a very low priority for me, so I only update this
stuff a couple of times a year (in a good year). Im not a big fan of
HTML. I would rather be writing some other form of code. Many years ago, I sat down early
one morning to learn Super Gold HTML+ 8.0 Pro with Netscape
extensions, but I lost interest really quickly. The text is the
important part of this page, so I'll just stick to that.
I tend to be a portable, efficient person. I dont like to throw in a bunch of
slow graphics, background textures, etc. I just want the text. Grey
background and blue links are fine. You don't like it? Don't read it.

School
I am currently an alum of Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, CA.
I do not expect that to change anytime soon.
I graduated in May of 1999 with a degree in Computer Science.
Work
To make a living, I work for
Scripps Institution
of Oceanography. I work on the computer systems for their
research vessels.
Undersea.Com
What the heck is Undersea.Com? Well, I registered
a domain name a few years back, and now I know enough to get it
cranking! Undersea is basically a small group of computers running
what seems to be a reasonable variety of operating systems, including
one linux server offering some services (this page is one) that I
think are important. Each machine has its name for a reason. Why
undersea? Why not? It wasn't taken at the time, and it seems to fit
the overall purpose of the name: fun and learning.
You really want to see a picture of me?
Go ahead and click here, but you have been warned. This was
scanned with a flat bed scanner in one of my more lighthearted moods,
many moons ago.
Getting in touch with me
The best way is to send me email at the address at the bottom of the page.
Of all the accounts I have, it probably gets checked the most frequently and
should follow me for a while. Snail mail is basically useless, and the
phone is of limited use. Stick to email and you can't go wrong.
